Hong Kong’s unique culture and traditions are derived from a melting pot of both Western and Eastern influences. Experience the changes in Hong Kong history and learn about the culturally rich Central, Sheung Wan and Western District.

Walk along Central District, the business and financial hub of Hong Kong is a glittering show of mirrored towers, multi-million dollars high-rises and designer shops. You will discover that behind this modern and rather Western facade lie charming reminders of Hong Kong’s colonial past. Visit Eu Yan Sang, manufacturers and retailers of fine traditional Chinese medicines and herbs, the philosophy behind Chinese medicines is based on the concept of equilibrium – between the human body and its external environment and within the body itself. Take the 800-metres; the world’s longest outdoor escalator to Hollywood Road, this area has been long famous for its many antique and curio shops. It’s a browser’s paradise with everything from Chinese black wood furniture, calligrapher sets, wall scrolls and porcelain. Built in 1847, the little Man Mo Temple on Hollywood road is another attraction. Walk from Ladder Street to Western district, one of the oldest residential areas on the island, this area is also known as the centre of the city’s wholesale ginseng and medicinal-herb trade.
